We’re proud to be neighbours to the incredible, world-famous Glastonbury Festival and so are throwing an honourary event in celebration of its success. This June, Huey Morgan brings his NYC Block Party to Marston Park for a fun-lovin’, mini Glastonbury alternative by the lake.
Hip Hop, Funk, Disco & Stone Cold Classics
6 Music, BBC Radio 2 and Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman Huey Morgan brings the sound of NYC to our ‘hood. From Chic to Donna Summer and Kool and the Gang to James Brown via Grandmaster Flash and The Jackson 5 and more recent flavours like Mr Jukes, Kendrick Lamar, De La Soul and Cyprus Hill - Huey’s NYC Block Party is the sound of funk, soul, disco and hip hop jams battling it out on the dancefloor, a riotous celebration of the Good Times & The Good Grooves. Come get on down with Sugar Hill and ‘throw your hands in the air like you just don’t care!’

Huey Morgan NYC Block Party
The musical equivalent of the cosmic Big Bang, disco, hip hop and funk collided in an almighty collision in late 70s New York, with call and response choruses sat astride Get Down breaks and fast’n’furious hip hop mixing. It was a truly magical moment, and one that Huey captures perfectly with his funk-loving NYC Block Party.
Children of Zeus (Live)
Children of Zeus is a soul project from two of Manchester’s most respected artists, Konny Kon and Tyler Daley. Konny Kon is a DJ, MC and beatmaker, best known as one third of Broke’N’English alongside fellow Mancunians DRS and Strategy. Tyler Daley, also known as Hoodman, went from being a respected MC and actor to one of the most in-demand soul singers of recent times, lending his vocals and writing credits to music from Goldie, LSB, Soul II Soul‘s Caron Wheeler, Lenzman, Lisa Mafia, Bugsy Malone, and more.
Bam from Jungle Brothers
Bam (aka Afrika Baby Bam) is nothing short of a living legend. DJ, producer, MC from Jungle Brothers, he is one of the pioneers and key contributors to the golden age era of hip hop. One of the founders of the Native Tongues collective, together with fellow artists A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and Queen Latifah, he started a positive, good-humoured, yet conscious movement that brought afrocentricity, social commentary, fun story-telling and an eclectic mix of music to the hip-hop art form that still influences young artists today.
DJ Diggz
DJ Diggz is an international DJ, presenter, producer and journalist whose taste in music has stretched and matured into multi genres and codes. This is no-boundaries music, just feelings and flows that suit different moods and directions. He also DJ’d and held residencies at some of the biggest club nights and festivals across Europe, including several appearances on Glastonbury’s Dance Stage.
For the Love of It - Spoken Word Show
Jonny Fluffypunk, Clare Ferguson Walker and Liv Torc are Poetry Tribe, three crazily talented stand-up poets and flawed human wonder kestrels who, after 18 months of no live gigs, or live gigs in front of three anxious people in hazmat suits, are trying to rediscover their love of live performance and touring again.
